The 8th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD 2011) - Sousse, Tunisia

Welcome message by General Chairs

On behalf of International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to extend a warm invitation to you to participate in the 8th SSD scheduled to be held in Sousse, Tunisia from 22nd to 25th March, 2011.

On 2011, SSD will celebrate its 10th birthday. Since 2001, SSD has grown substantially from a brand new conference with a strong vision to the SSD of today, firmly established as the premier electrical engineering conference in Tunisia and North Africa.

The International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices traditionally brings together outstanding researchers in different fields of the electrical engineering departments from the leading research centres and universities around the world. We are determined to keep this good tradition alive and we are convinced that at its 10th birthday, the conference will create a unique opportunity to renew and strengthen our academic contacts.

SSD conferences have been held in Tunisia biennially from 2001 to 2007. Since then, a decision has been made to organize SSD annually such that it is held in Tunisia during odd years and in another country during even years. During 2008 and 2010 SSD has been co-organized with Philadelphia University in Amman-Jordan.

Tunisia has a well developed tourism infrastructure with a plethora of luxury hotels and resorts, advanced transport infrastructure, a wide range of activities and cultural events, spas and numerous tour operators operating in the country. All these advantages in addition to its well known hospitality, have made of Tunsia a highly attractive country.

Several cultural and tourist events will be organized during the conference. We believe it is a good way of getting you and your accompanying persons acquainted with different sites of Tunisia.

"Cognitive" design has become one of the most important features in pervasive computing fields. Typically it is based on the utilization of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms.
