The 13th International Conference on Advance Communication Technology (ICACT 2011) - Phoenix Park, Korea


ICACT(International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology) provides an open forum for researchers, engineers, policy, makers, network planners, and service providers in the advanced communication technologies. Extensive exchange of information will be provide on newly emerging systems, standards, services, and variety of applications on the area of telecommunications.

ICACT2011, The 13th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology will be held on February 13~16 2011 in Phoenix Park (http://www.phoenixpark.co.kr) Gangwon-Do, Republic of Korea.

Message from the ICACT2011 General Chair

On behalf of the ICACT2011 international conference committee, I would like to welcome all of you to ICACT2011. It is a great pleasure for me to host this 13th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology 2011 (ICACT2011) in Korea.

The ICACT is an IEEE technical co-sponsored annual international conference in the communications field, where all experts from home and abroad gather to present their work, and share new ideas and visions for achieving the future telecommunication age.

The ICACT has been held annually in Korea since February 1999, and the last conference, ICACT2010, was successfully held with 49 technical sessions including 311 papers from 23 countries with more than 400 participants.

This annual conference continues to grow steadily in both quality and quantity of papers presented. Since 2004, the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Daejeon Section have technical co-sponsored the ICACT in cooperation with the IEEE Region 10. The papers of the ICACT have been published in its Conference Proceedings and IEEE Xplore. The papers have been also indexed by several databases such as INSPEC, Engineering Index (EI), SCOPUS, and Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI). 

The special theme of ICACT2011 is “Smart Service Innovation through Mobile Interactivity". According to a recent study by ComScore, in 2010 over 45.5 million people in the United States owned smartphones and it is the fastest growing segment of the mobile phone market, which comprised 234 million subscribers in the United States only. Recently it is real something in global ICT market. Smartphone can be thought of as handheld computers integrated within a mobile telephone, allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on an open source specific platforms over world wide Internet, and run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers . I expect that the ICACT2011 will play a role in order to make great contribution to make our world smarter. 

I am very certain that ICACT2011 will be of great significance to us all, and I hope you will enjoy both the technical excellence during the sessions and the recreational content at the beautiful landscapes of Phoenix Park.
